The weirdest thing has happened up here in North Texas....I don't understand.
I went outside, prepared to grimace and be hit by a blast furnace effect.
Then I saw it....the trees....they were moving around and billowing, all by themselves...yet, I could not see anything doing this to them...but the billowing would come in waves, from the north.....and the air....it didn't hurt. I had this strange sensation on my skin...the hairs on my arms stood up on top of thousands of little bumps. My mind went blank. All I could think of was "ahhh" and "ooohhh".
I tried throwing a rock at it...no change....should I call the police?
Bummed that it's been so hot the chores have backed up. Gotta work on the house some for a while. Actually having to work ( at Work no less ) today.. Have some fun for me!

Lake Travis in Austin is down 50 feet... we drove our trailers down to the water's edge and launched our racing dinghies from the gravel shore line... most of the boat ramps are well out of the water now.
There's was only one public ramp left open on the entire 65 mile long Lake Travis that Kent mentioned above. They closed that one ramp yesterday so the water bombers can scoop up water to fight the wild fires.
I spent the night on the boat last night. I ended up turning the AC off for a while during the middle of the night. Not sure what the low was but it was supposed to be in the upper 60's and it felt like it was pretty close. Temperature this afternoon ended being around 92 on shore but it felt like upper 80's out on the lake.
Winds were supposed to be 10-15 today but they ended up being 5 to maybe 10 at times. I sailed for a couple of hours and it was really enjoyable. Only a couple of other boats out and with the low winds and mostly smooth water it was very relaxing.
I decided to practice sailing into the marina (which you're not supposed to do) to see if I could do it if the motor failed. With no boat traffic and the winds from the perfect direction I was able to get into the outer edge of the marina but would have never made it to my slip because of the wind direction.
I sailed into the edge of the marina with the motor idling in neutral (just in case), calmly rolled the 150 in, dropped the motor in gear and idled to my slip. Never even stood up until I drifted into my slip.
I've said it before but the more I use my new furler the more I love it. It makes sailing so much more enjoyable and really reduces the work load. I was toying with selling the boat before I decided to add a furler to see how big a difference it would make. I can now honestly say I will never own another sailboat without one.
