Just for the heck of it, I took the online boater safety class that is now required for persons born after 1988 who want to operate watercraft in Tennessee. Wanted to see what was in the course. Took about 2.5-3 hours to sit through all of the lessons, a combination of on screen reading, animated cartoons, and videos. Learned a few new things, very few I didn't already know, mostly about coastal boating, signals, buoys, etc. About 1/3 of the course is directed at operating PWC's. Cost was $29.50. Hopefully, I'll get a little discount on our boat policies to recoup some of that. At any rate, I'll now have a certificate to show if needed in other states. Exam is 60 questions, multiple choice. I missed a few, but mostly because I got in a hurry and didn't read the question as closely as I should have. So take your time and read closely.

Too bad that course is not approved to satisfy the Texas requirements. It would be nice to take it for free.

They changed it for Texas....now you have to pay the $13 when you register....it's no longer free until you take the final exam.
