Finally making the move up to a 30; gonna miss my girl muy mucho, but I think it's my last shot at a larger boat at my rather advance age. My girl's in great shape with many mods I gathered from this excellent 250 website. I'll keep checking back to stay in touch you, some of my best online "shipmates". If you know anyone in the Southern Cal area who's in the 250 market, here's the URL to the Yachtworld listing:
Congrats Frank! I know it's been a long search/evaluation... but I also strongly suspected what the outcome was going to be. Tell us more about your new lady!
Thanks, Dave. Here's the Craig's List URL to its listing. I know all three of the previous owners, all members of the Navy Yacht Club Long Beach, as I am. It's present/last owner only owned her for just over a year. His brother-in-law partner bailed on him, plus he's in almost constant pain from knee replacement and his wife has no interest in sailing. The boats unofficial name was BETTY JO. She will now be named LUCKY PENNY ;-)

That's when the new Universal was installed. 2 year old diesel, 27 year old boat, but in great shape. <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">I got that, but given the list of major replacements (especially the diesel), it would seem you have close to the equivalent of a two-year-old boat. The fiberglass, after all, lasts forever (and forever).
Are there only two Group 24 batteries aboard? If so, that might be a little slim for a diesel-powered 30-footer. They might be adequate as the house bank, but a separate starting battery (with a switched connection to the house bank) would be a good addition. But you know your usage and I don't...
