Is the boom adjustable (vertically) on the mast of an '85 Catalina 25 swing keel? Iam assuming this would be the gooseneck...thanks

Depends which gooseneck you have. There is a stationary one and an adjustable one that slides up and down the same track as the sail slides.

On my '85, the gooseneck slid up and down in the track. I used two track-stops to make it essentially fixed and hold the boom above my bimini.

The '85 C25 came from the factory with a sliding gooseneck - so, the boom would move up or down with halyard tension. In a series of owners since 1985, a PO might have rigged a fixed gooseneck in place of the sliding one.

If you have a fixed gooseneck and want to convert to a sliding gooseneck - you can use this - available from Catalina Direct.
