I bought my boat listed as a tall rig. I had no reason to doubt this, and although thought it was a good thing did not have a special need for a tall rig.
However, I'm going to upgrade to all-line halyards and new upper shrouds, and recently measure the mast by running a line up with the main haylyard, as high as I could get it, and measuring that distance to the deck. I came up with 28'4", which needs a couple of inches added for the mast head, correct? That seems to be the height for a standard rig (28' vs. 30'.)
Is this what I have, then, or am I missing something in the measurements? I just need to know for replacement parts purposes. I could, I suppose, order two sets of everything and return the ones I don't use, but that seems unnecessary.
That extra 4" (+) is puzzling, especially since the halyard shackle is likely to not quite reach the top... Did you perhaps stretch the measuring line a little?
