On my 1997 C250 starboard in the foot well is what looks like an inspection port with a black rubber flexible crinkled cone - this is where my battery leads come out from inside of the transom to the engine. I'm wondering if anyone else has this and if so where I can get a replacement. My rubber flange is cracked and I would like to replace it. Sorry, but I don't have a pic. handy. But if it's stock, I bet everyone has one. Thanks.
I think that's a dealer installed variation on a theme. Mine goes thru the fuel vent and down a tube in the floor of the fuel locker. Wouldn't have been the way I would have done it but it works.
Our 1997 C-250 doesn't have what you describe, sorry. I had to install my own when I bought an electric start outboard, which is very similar to Randy's.

Be sure it is very well sealed, because there is a danger of fuel fumes settling into your cabin and bilge.
FYI, mine goes through the side coaming like Randy's, except instead of a through-hull there is a small SS cowl vent-like attachment (just large enough for the wires to pass through) screwed in to keep rain water out.
Mine enters the boat on the stern, outboard of the engine to starboard through a hole covered by a small stainless clamshell vent like the one in the West Marine catalog page 537.
To make removal easy, I used a locking trolling motor plug that handles 8 guage wire. WM has them, but they are not cheap. You maybe able to get one online cheaper. It should fit in the hole you presently have now.

Looks brand new. I always get water and tree crumbs there. Steve A <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"> I must have just cleaned it. It usually is pretty funky back under there!
