Racing is alive and thriving in the National Association. Our Commodores, past and present, are organizing great race weeks. Jim Baumgart is organizing a terrific “Nationals” in his home town of San Diego this coming Sept. http://www.catalina-capri-25s.com/racing/2010_NOR.pdf If you are able do your best to get there and compete.
The Capri Fleet at the Wayzata Yacht Club in Minnesota has been approved to host the 2011 “Nationals” Congratulations to the Capri-25 fleet, we look forward to them holding a great regatta.
I hope to attend the nationals next year in MN, I'm excited about it. I know nothing about PHRF racing, nor does my boat have a certificate. I will start looking into the PHRF, but my question was, do you plan on using that rating for the MN regatta, or just Portsmouth.
I have to say we have a lot of C-25's on lake Ray Hubbard. At my dock we have 4 in a row, including two member boats. We might be a good place for a race....

Patrick, I think that regatta is for the Capris - all the action for C-25's is on the west coast if I read this right.
We really need to get organized here in the Great Lakes Region and throw something together.

The Assoc. will help them contact and attract boats in all the classes. Please watch for their announcements as plans develop and attend if you can. We (the officers) are pleased to see the Capri's get involved and see this as an excellent expansion of the National Regatta. Having said that the assoc. now sanctions "Regional Regattas" and encourage groups from all over the country to put together regattas that will get local association members together for racing.
Darn, I got all excited too. Well, my pals here have a Capri 25 they will surely take up to MN next year, and dont' think they have a PHRF either, so question still stands.
My boat is tearing it up this year too, giving the old guy sailors a run for their money, whereas they are usually pretty hard to beat. I attribute most of the improvement to the adjustable back stay I added this year. I'm sure my fore and back stays were too loose last year.

John, Does "All the classes" include the C-25/250 fleet? Sorry, but I didn't catch the full meaning of your message. I may be available as crew for Minnesota, but it is still a bit of a hike.
I just looked up WYC on G-maps - looks like an interesting venue. Inland lake with a lot of potential for shore effect winds. Could be a pretty cool little race.

Yes. This is an Assoc. sanctioned "Nationals". Whether there are fleets in all classes depends on attendance but to be a host of the "Nationals" means inviting and making every effort to start fleets in ALL our classes.
