So the National Weather Service predicts sustained winds in the high 20s with gust approaching 40 knots hereabouts on Thursday.

So what day do you suppose I've been planning my splash since last January? Why Thursday, of course.

I'd prefer not to have to wait for the RR drawbridge to open while I try to power against the relentless winds.

Luckily, the marina will accommodate me for one more day when the winds are expected to rachet down to a measily 8-10. Friday was my "rain date" anyway. I guess I should have called it my wind-date.

It'll be nice to get back onto the water.

Can't even get the boat to the lake to launch. Winds hae been in excess of 40 mph for the last 3 days. Sunday is a launch day I hope.

It's looking like spring here also these past couple of days: daffodils, tulips and wildflowers in full bloom, leaves starting to pop and over a foot of new snow on the ground....had to get the snow blower out to get my wife's car out of the garage yesterday. However, it is predicted to be nearly 80#176 on Saturday. On the bright side, water temp is up to 40#176F (4#176C)and our mooring is in place...just have to find the time right now to tackle that list of projects.

Hope everyone made it in this weekend! Bruce I launched just down the coast...Delaware seashore...on Thursday and ended up with sustained 15 knots...I kept waiting for it to lay down a bit but when it became obvious that wouldn't happen I went for it. Friday was pretty gentle and Saturday wasn't too breezy so I'm assuming you are in by now!
Yea!!!! I'm in the water...in the water ...in the water!!!!! I've been waiting for this since October!
