I want to place my mast wiring in plastic conduit as I have read about. I would like to discuss live with someone who has done this on their boat. I want to place the VHF and light wiring in it to prepare for internal halyards.

I was also thinking of documenting this for the class to post on the site.

Thanks

Chris Z.

Pretty straight forward process. I slid 1/2 inch steel rod inside the conduit to keep it in place whilst drilling a hole and installing 1/8th inch rivets. Also ended up using 14 gauge wires as 12 gauge wouldn't all fit!

Used gray PVC conduit found at Home Depot, tinned marine-grade wire and, te-hum, aluminum rivets. Also installed a rubber grommet in the mast where the wire bundle exits. Also shrink wrapped the bottom 2 to 3 feet of the bundle.

Good luck!
