I removed the ancient and scary alcohol stove from my '81 Cat 25. I don't cook on the boat much, so I want to build a compartmentalized frame to put in the space where the stove was to hold things I want close to the cockpit instead of having to put them in the sink. I carefully measured all of the dimensions of the space where the stove was except the height. I'm four hours away from my boat and would like to build this thing before I go back. Can anyone help me with this?

I built a false front to close the hole where the stove was. That measurement from the bottom of the butcher block down to the stainless insert is 6-3/8". I'm not sure what you are building but I hope that helps.

Actually I took the whole stove out, leaving just the space where it had been. That's the height measurement I need.

Yes that is the measurement "without" the stove. The liner is the stainless sheet metal that lines the fibre glass "hole". I am going out today and can measure from the bottom to the top without the butcher block if you want. I will be back about 8P EST or so. Do you have a picture or can you draw what you need? Taking measurements for some one else over the inter-net can be dicey. Or send me your phone# by clicking on my name and using the forum e-mail. I could call you from the boat.

Thanks for the offer. The space my stove was in did not have a liner, so I need the height of the molded fiberglass in which the stove sits. You can either just put it as a reply in this thread, or email me at mconwell@triad.rr.com. I REALLY appreciate it!

8-1/2" without the liner. I hope this helps.
