I have Catalina 25 86' with M-12 diesel engine. I sow one pipe one foot long just hanging down on right site. Is it breather pipe. Can anybody, where is connected breather pipe.I try to find info in manual but no data Regards, Goran
Probably the engine's air intake dropped low like that maybe to suck up fumes? Is it just hanging and swinging around or does it seem to be rigid and supported?
It's called the "oil breather" hose. You have two choices:
1. Reroute it back to land near the air intake
2. Stick the end of it in a small can; some of us use old soda cans filled with soft material like that used in bilge absorption pads, I use an empty Excedrin bottle which I replace every few months. It simply keeps the oil from leaking out onto the floor of the engine compartment/area.
See www.marinedieseldirect.com for more info about your engine. Bookmark this website, you'll find it very handy.

You're very welcome. The Admiral's Forum has a number of us who've moved on up and would be glad to share diesel and electrical system information with you or anyone else.
