When I sold my Catalina 25 and bought my Hobie Getaway I had to do something about sleeping arrangements, so I bought a van.
(2000 Ford E-150 351 cu)
I added shore power and put a full twin sized bed in the place of the removable seats. I installed home made Sunbrella curtains and even had the ability to use a window AC. It was great for a one guy program.

Well, my wife had another idea; we now have a used 22' trailer.
(1999 Springdale 22)
The first thing I did was add a dock box to the back! I will say I am anxious to use it at the lake, it will be very comfortable. It has a walk around queen bed forward and a full width bathroom aft. The galley and dinette are in the middle. It will end up with more Stainless Steel and teak enhancements than your average trailer!

I was very lucky to have owned my Catalina 25s but am looking forward to trying beach life with our new toys. ... and learning about towing and owning trailers.

Very nice. You'll be the most comfortable guys at the lake. Now if only we had a genie to squeeze those accommodations into the C-25!!

From your past work in C-25s, I'm sure it will be a head turner. I wouldn't mind parking one at my marina for the summer.

Sorry, can't resist.... Any chance we can put a Mast and pontoons on this puppy and a 75 HP motor so we can call it a MacGreggor?. I think you'll need a generator unless you'll be anchored in a trailor park, although I hear Walmart let's you anchor for free if you spend something - no power... Seriously, nice ride, but uh... will you tow your new ride behind it? Anyway to integrate the two? Icebox?

You're kinda freaking me out! My wife just saw these pics and uh, there went cruising! Just made a down on a 38 foot 5th wheel! Now we just need a truck! April fools! Sorry wrong holiday!

These digs are too humble for Mrs. Viking, the trailer only cost 4k; hardly C&C territory. The van and Hobie were 4k each too so I am all up for 12k, I am pleased about that since I am your basic poor dude.

Mrs. Viking thinks you haven't seen the inside of a C&C 39! Yes, we really like each other! Love the galley, head, etc... 8 grand and you are land yachting! Nicely done!

Frank,

If my memory serves me, I believe that your van idea really obliged you to buy, and use a surfboard; of course, you also needed to move westward to the our little islands in the Pacific ocean.

A Van near the water, is the Bohemian lifestyle. Oh but one must have new toys.

I can't wait to see you posting in the future; whereby we are all looking at your houseboat.

Best to you in 2009, and thanks for sharing. I'll make sure my wife doesn't view the pictures posted by you or it wont be too long before I become a basic poor dude.

hip hip hooray!

Nicely done. Mrs. Pastmember is a wise woman. I predict that you will begin embarking on land cruises this summer and will enjoy the heck out of it. I am looking forward to that when I retire.

Randy,

Retire? Wow, with the economics of these days, "retirement" has no meaning.

Frank is an explorer no doubt. I can't wait to see his new plane. I know he doesn't have it yet, but it's coming; right Frank?
