Unfortunately, my part of the world will be covered by suspended moisture all night.

And you might have seen the show last Monday, 12-1-08, too, when Jupiter and Venus flew along the evening sky just under the crescent moon. It was a beautiful sight in our back yard.

Last nightwhen I got in from work, I noticed that the sky was visibly brighter than usual. Maybe this was it!

John P. I did notice and it is special. The next time Jupiter and Venus will be this close is 2010 and 2012, but in conjunction with the Moon not until 2052. Think I will miss that one.

Thank you for the "heads up" Too bad we can't all watch it out on the lake from our boats. Me and my wife Becky love to sail Lake St Clair at night, even saw the Northern Lights one time

I will get my 4" scope out to view the craters. We are having a pretty good year for viewing the stars and planets.

I've got an 8" scope, but we're settling in for a big winter storm here, so unlikely to see anything beyond the glow of the moon behind the clouds & snow.

Really "special" here in the PNW all right. Pouring down rain.
