Agreed. When proper precautions are taken though it's really nice.
You are not kidding, the pop top rocks. I had one on a Southcoast 22 also and I just can't imagine a sailboat without one. I don't even like the Bimini because I like to be out there as much as possible.
Of course if I was in more sun it would be different.
Nice photos everyone! Here's another from this past weekend. My brother joined me and several friends for a 3 day trip over to St. Michaels, MD. Here is Daren in his C-25 with our friend Glenn in his Hunter 30. As you can see the winds died down quite a bit and we were ghosting along at 1.5-2 knots. We were on alternating tacks and when I saw Daren and Glenn intersecting, I thought it'd make for a nice photo:
i noticed that you guys are flying the flag from your masthead - do you use pigsticks up three, or a spare halyard? My understanding was that a national ensign was to be flown from the transom on a short staff, or from the backstay about 2/3 up from its attachment point.
Did I miss something on flying it from the masthead? Let me know since we have a curdmudgeon in our marina who is a stickler for these things.
That pic is from our 4th of July parade.... We decorate the boats and have the parade (usually 20+ boats) right before sunset and a big fireworks show. It's a hoot and the shoreline is packed with spectators. It's a 4th tradition at Payette lake in McCall Id.
