I'm rebuilding my trailer. My neighbour, the welder came over to cut off the old tailer jack. In the process, he cut my brake line just as it exits the master cylinder. Can this line be repaired or does it have to be replaced? How would it be repaired?
Darn. I was hoping that someone would suggest using a T-junction or collar or something like that. I've never worked with brake line and really don't want to tackle this job.
The brake lines come as a kit, you unroll it and tie it to the rails, trivial. You order based on your trailer length. measure from your coupler to the axle. Of course I went electric after fixing one hydraulic, loved the electric upgrade.
Anyone that does automotive brakes in your area can do it. Just make sure the parking lot is big enough for your trailer. I would take the boat trailer over to them and have them look at it.
The problem with using a splice type fitting is that hydraulic brake tubing uses a double flare. If you're not well versed in double flares, I wouldn't do it. Dan
