I haven't had a chance to use mine yet (long story, but our boat's still high & dry). Read the whole thread before you start ordering, the first link I posted isn't the one you want, it's the second one.

David, revisiting your link I now see the sense in that setup.

Because our trailer has the underslung tongue extension, we would have to mount the wheel carrier upside down, but that would see to work out ok.

Think I'll go get one of those carriers and the jack (our's, with caster wheel is due replacement)

I called Trailrite before finding the other option. That unit is about $700. Plus you have to pull the unit out of the sleeve, turn it over, and remount. The other spare tire/hub just requires that you let the jack down.

Randy you just lower the trailer till the wheel touches or does it move down ?

$700 ? wt- I was thinking around $200

or I thought about a longer extention 4' to 6' longer

I see you answered that already , does the original fifth wheel go low enough or do you use a car jack ?
