Hello fellow racers...Sailing "Grace" with my new Blair rudder was awesome in our annual Payette Cup Regatta in McCall, Idaho this past weekend. With rain, sleet and snow and very high winds on Sat and sun and light winds on Sun...we started our regatta on Saturday with approx 25 boats, 6 or so classes and 3 starts. Our guests came from LCSA (Lewiston/Clarkston Sailing Association) and SISA (Southern Idaho Sailing Association) MYHC (Mill Harbor Yacht Club) is the host and this regatta takes places usually the 2nd weekend in June...never on Father's Day. Saturday was great...3 races and my new Blair rudder really took care of us, myself and 1 crew, as we never rounded up, did not have weather helm and held a tight point into the wind with amazing ease. No shoulder pain at all. Downwind...Grace sailed fabulously and held her own against much faster boats...if you are looking for a new rudder - please call Randy Blair...his design is great!! There were 2 Catalina 250's in the Catalina 25 class and I took 3rd and then 8th over all. Not bad for a non-racing boat!!!If your interested in joining us next year..please let me know...our website is www.mhyacht.com. The schedule is on there as well as a web cam for you to take a look...or call if you want more information.
