Hi: I just purchased a 1984, 25' Catalina Tall Rig, swing keel, pop-top. She needs lots of TLC. Unfortunately the main has been ruined. Let me know if you've got one for sale. Thanks!
I just bought a new main for my boat. My old one is from an 89 vintage boat. I'm assuming it is the original, but in pretty decent shape. What will you be doing with the boat? If you are looking for a simple cruising sail mine might do the trick. Let me know and we can discuss.
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the forum. As you can see from the sig. below, we also have a 1984 TR swinger with pop-top. It's a great boat, and you're going to love it. If you don't find a good used main, take a look at the Sail warehouse or National Sail Supply. Their new sail prices are very reasonable. what is your sail number?

Peter, if it works I would see if maybe a bleaching solution would work. Go on the general forum and do a post or check with your local sailmaker. Steve A
If you have any interest in trying to clean it, google Sail Care Inc. in Ford City, PA. They do good work cleaning and partially restoring sails, at least to get a few more years of cruising use out of them.
Thanks for the information on Sail Care. That looks like a great way to go. I'm still looking for a main for my tall rig. Everyone has been very helpful, thanks!
