Our lake is in a similar state, but covered in kiters and ice-fishermen. My daughter was asking if the boat could work like an ice-breaker so we could get in the water soon.
We decided we'd go to one of the ice-fisherment, and plunk th eboat down in their holes (6" across, tops) and just spin around in circles. It was a good laugh.
We are itching for spring, but another 15" of snow is forecast for tonight.
Okay, I left out one detail on going to the lake. There is light at the end of the tunnel.
Force 5 sailboat and regatta vehicle loaded and ready to leave to head to Key Largo for the Force 5 Midwinters.
I am wondering if any of the members would consider buying one of these and joining us in the keys for the midwinters every year. This is a great escape from the ice!!! You would find that the Force 5 sailors are so much like the people in this class.
In the low 50s today and about 60F tomorrow. I'm headin down to the boat in about a 15 minutes. A little buffing to do in the cockpit - The 4" Sears Craftsman Scrubber/Polisher - I'm happy with it even though battery only lasts a somewhat short time depending on the chore. Then...I may put on my new Quantum Genoa to go with the new main put on several weeks ago. Then off for a sail today and maybe tomorrow.

When I was in Wichita Falls, Texas. (a total of about a year stretched over 23 years) The often heard expression was: If you don't like the weather in Wichita Falls, wait 5 minutes, it'll change. Must be true in your part of Texas too!
I am attending the races at your lake. I am planning a trip up to your lake in April to check things out with another Force 5 sailor from Columbus. We are considering bringing the C25 and will know better by the beginning of June.
I was hoping to make it to the lake this weekend, even put the new outboard on yesterday. Then, the weather forecast tonight for Saturday shows a 4-6" snow possibility coming toward us from Missouri and Arkansas. Go figure!
Okay, I am back from Key Largo. Got my sailing fix. Although now I really want to get in the water. Here is a picture from the second day in heavy air.
