If you've read my previous post, you'd know that we've had some problems with water in the cabin of our C250, particularly in the aft cabin. Those cushions have gotten quite wet, and I really think they should be cleaned to get rid of possible mildew--it can't be good to breathe that. Any suggestions on how to do it?
You might have already thought about this, so it might not be much help. First, I would take the cushions home and remove as much moisture from the cabin. The cushions have zippers so you can remove the foam. You might try rolling the foam to squeeze out as much water as possible. Then if it doesn't smell, stand up the foam and let dry in the garage for a week or two. The cushion covers could be cleaned separately with diluted bleach. Once the smell is gone, hang up the cushions in the garage too.
I had no mildew but some light stains. I unzipped all and removed the foam then put in the washing machine with hot water, Tide and oxygenated bleach (for colors). Came out brand new and smelling real nice. Dry naturaly outside since a machine dryer could shrink the material.

FYI: Oxy-Clean is Oxygenated bleach in a crystal form. It's the same stuff but more expensive. I buy oxygenated bleach at my grocery store. Used it to soak my sails that had mildew and dirt and they came out brand new (followed recommendations from an other forum). For cushions I like the idea of the Tide taking care of the grease and the Oxygenated bleach taking care of killing the living organisms (mildew in your case). Mixed in Tide for the 24 hour sail soaking also.
