Yee Ha

Santa brought my new Ullman tri radial laminated 135 headsail today. Of course I had to bribe him to the tune of 1,900 for it. Before you say "Yikes, that's expensive" it's for my Ericson 32. Much larger sail.
Gary Swenson sent me the forms for all of the measurements and I faxed them back to him. He cut it for cruising with occasional racing in mind. He did such a good job making sails for my Catalina 25 that I knew he would do me a good job on my Ericson sails.

In case you want my Ullman Catalina 25 sails, I'm giving them away free to anybody who wants to buy my boat and trailer, which goes on sale soon.

An Ericson with a laminated tri-radial jenny... Isn't that sorta like a Lexus with slicks?

Yes Tom, I have had it out. As a matter of fact, I have raced it the first weekend I sailed it up here in Knoxville. The first heat we took fifth out of 13, even beat a Sabre 34. Of course the next heats were not so good.
Pics were took of us from another boat. As soon as I learn how to post a pic from a CD I'll post some here.
From what I understand, Ericsons do pretty well for themselves in races.

Frank, email me a couple of photos, I would love to see them. Dave was implying that Ericsons are not competitive, quite the contrary to my experience. Those at my club are very fast. I love the 28+.

Forgive me for speaking for you, it is always a bad idea. I just need to relearn it every couple of hours.

That's OK Dave, I was just trying to figure out if you meant that the sail wasn't a good match for the boat. I sure hope it is. I just think that the tri radials look really cool and it was only about 200 bucks more, and I hope that it moves the boat faster. (yeah right, by about .001 knot)
I'm barely past beginning cruiser, and now I'm getting into the fray of racing. Yee Hah

I do have an oven on board, so if I bake cookies during a race, maybe the aroma will distract the competition.

I think I understand what Dave is saying there. I once knew a guy that put a 327 V8 engine in a Chevy Vega(showing my age?). It was fast. Unfortunately when he tried to race it the whole car twisted (oil canned) and he crashed it. Not that this has anything to do with this topic. Could be that we are just giving you a hard time for telling us about your $2000 sail on your 32 foot boat....LUCKY DAWG
