Show me a picture! This is the first photo of Bamboo, half of the forestay is out and will be replaced. Maybe I'll add a couple strings to the Bimini ............

45 feet of mast horizontal in spar loft, boat nestled behind 6 others on the land. Estimated 3 inches of snow by Christmas with an estimated temperature of 12 degrees, -3 with wind chill.

Your more than welcome to come up here and plug in a few lights - not sure who'd be here. (whiskey is in the flask under the sink)

If one more person from the southern climes posts a photo or a comment about their great winter weather i am going to scream!

That felt good.

Nice lights Dave!

P.S. If that dock is at your home then I am insanely jealous!

Here is our efforts for this years lighted boat parade. We had a music system playing mele kelikimaka (3 versions) as well as Jimmy Buffet's Christmas on Christmas Island. We ended up winning an award.

Here is a early effort, will try and get a better on tonight. Fog this AM, but burning off now. High today 79, clear with winds SE 5-10. It is suppose to get cold on Saturday high only 66 with 20% chance of rain.

Randy, Unfortunately it is not. It's a friend of mines place but she is nice enough to rent me the dock space for an embarrassingly small amount, so I consider myself quite lucky
And tmhansen, very nice display you've got going there!

Todd,
Jimmy would be proud, probably Don Ho too. Nice work. We thought about doing ours, but decided to take it out for the winter instead so we (meaning I) can work on it. Maybe I'll string some lights on it in the side yard. With Rita's foot broken, we're not likely to get many xmas decorations up, as I'm more of a scrooge than she is. She usually does the lion's share of any decorations we do.

Nice to see the pictures, and I'll try not to be as curmudgeonly as Randy about your weather. At least my local rock station understands and they played "One particular harbor" on my way home last night.

We light up mid-summer, when the lake is not frozen over.
My signature photo shows Labarca with a rope light run up the forestay in honor of a Blue Moon.

So, no I won't be lighting up for Xmas, however, I did build an outdoor rink over the weekend.*

* I used a 'cool' icon. Would have used a 'cold' icon had there been one.

Normally it is in the 20's by now. Today was sunny and it set a new all-time high in the mid-70's. I should have played hooky from work and gone sailing, but, alas, I didn't. Did go out at lunch and check on the boat, however. Office is 6 miles from the lake. Supposed to snow by the weekend!

You guys are killing me here in MN. It's been below freezing since Thanksgiving.

The only lights being put up around here are in trees.
