Because I trust our members and my fellow flag line staff, I was hoping to reach out you 'all for some advice. Is any member Six Sigma certified? I would love to have a conversation offline with you about it.
Not Six Sigma certified but I am an engrg supervisor of 7 engrs. One is a green belt and all the rest of us are now yellow belts (which is learning just enough to be helpful an a LEAN Process Team). Besides that, we have all have taken a few on-line LEAN/Six Sigma courses and some of us have participated in process improvement events. These events work only well and are incentive for addl ones if upper management implements what the Team recommends. Without upper management endorsement, it then becomes a de-motivator to participate in addl LEAN events. Best if at the very highest level of the corporate structure and down...that they have all had some LEAN/Six Sigma training. That then is a big plus for following through with Team recommendations. However, many LEAN events in our office have been beneficial.
Since none in my Section nor I are certified at a Black Belt level, then may not be able to help you out that much. Besides...I am leaving on a 4-5 day business trip early this afternoon to Norfolk, VA. Be back some time on Friday !
I have a six sigma green belt and have black belt training just haven't had the need to spend the time on projects to get the black belt - two of my staff have blackbelts however.
