Paul, did GD have anything to do with changes with the new 250? Or has Catalina asked the association for imput for future changes?

After seeing the new 250 and then hearing this audio, I got to thinking instead of waiting for Catalina to contact us for input perhaps we should be contacting them. I feel suggestions coming from the association would carry more weight than coming from one owner.

Maybe as an association we need to create an avenue with Catalina to provide them with input from us for future changes. After listen to GD, it seems that he had a laundry list of items that he had been collecting over time so I know he listens.

Might be something the new officers want to table in a meeting.

thoughts?

FWIW, at the Miami Boat show this year, we discussed various aspects of the C250 with Gerry. He commented on the fact that the table was being redesigned and there were a few other changes in the works. I guess the result is the MkII.

Peggy & I will be at the Catalina Rendezvous next month in St. Pete. Fla.

If we had a suggestion list, I'm sure that I'll get the chance to slip it to Gerry (and Frank if he's there). We'll have JD on site (already booked a slip at the marina) and perhaps we'll get the chance to show off our mods (A/C, the new table, etc. etc.) Maybe they'll love the boat and offer a straight swap on a 309 but I would only accept it if it was fully pimped out!

I would agree that this forum should be at least a small part of the redesign/market research process for Catalina. While each owner has their own pet pieves, the collected wisdom should, long term, provide better input. Besides, an involved owners association will contribute to more sales for Catalina than a disenfranchised group. My fear is Catalina is focused more on their competetion than on their current or prospective customers!
