Alcohol and drugs have not been alluded to. But certainly, at 4AM, one would have to assume that the collective IQ at work here, would have had some stimulous.

I woke up this morning and put on VHF channel 16. There was a repetitive announceent from the USCG that all vessels should keep a watchful eye.

I heard something on the radio as I was waking up but didn't really get the details. Then, at work a colleague asked me if I had heard about it. One of the geniuses is her cousin.

I usually don't get on the general forum but did this morning. As you & I both know John, Lake Erie can change quickly. I would have never taken that thing out but they did. I looked at the weather paterns the same week I read it. The lake was pretty good wind wise the entire week except for that Tuesday afternoon when it the wind increased in about 2 seconds. The rest of the entire week was fine.it was just bad timing or poor luck on their part but the did get lucky when that boat came by so save them.

I'm not sure that it is truly accurate to refer to them as 'boaters'. I can think of many other things to refer to them as that would be more appropriate.
