I am not gonna a question re how to reef! Thank Neptune, huh! More of a technnical question re reefing. I am looking at several hooks and wondered what the more experienced of you use, ie, lashing vs. cunninghom vs mainsail reef hook, etc. I see there is a ram horn type vs straight hook. Also lashing it down with shock cord vs a single braid line, etc. Whats the consensus?

I don't use hooks on my C25 TR. Instead I have rigged a single- line reefing line for each of the two reefs in my main. The lines run to a double rope clutch on the cabin top next to the main halyard clutch. I can lower the main and tension the reefs almost at the same time, single handed, without having to leave the cockpit.
Check out this thread on reefing. I don't use hooks either. The pictures do not come up since Shutterfly changed its system. I will try and post them again on this thread.
