Do the WB boats always have the centerboard clunking while at anchor?
We've only been out on the boat overnite a couple times but both times at anchor the board has kept us awake. I've tried fully down part way up and all the way up and if we can't fix this then I think we'll have to sell it and try something else.
Does anyone know the size and thickness of the spacers so that when we pull the boat out I can have something made up and install in one trip?
My board also clunks when the boat rocks at anchor. Keel up, keel down, keel halfway down, no diffeence. I dropped the keel and put teflon spacers (as many as I could fit) on both sides of the keel. Yup, still clunked, no difference. I climbed under and had a long look. Seems as though even with shims, the board will move back and forth enough to contact the hull 6 inches in front and behind the pin it hangs from. I acquired some foam sheets (Home Depot) and cut 2 pieces just large enough to fit inside the hull cutout alongside the keel when it's up. Now when the keel is raised, it can't move port and starboard enough for the keel to contact the hull. I glued them in place and I'm waiting for my local lake to drop 20 feet so I can try it out.
I have no noticable noise from my keel in any position. I think it's worth looking into and fix it. Whilst on the trailer try moving the keel in different positions to diagnose the problem.

Got the boat lifted today and put on stands as their are no convenient ramps to this marina.
Board rattled when touched. Yup, no spacers at all!
Went in to the hardware store in marina and found the perfect spacers. I bought up enough for two boats. Amazingly 1 inch hole 3 inches in diameter which was exactly what I wanted.
The shaft for the centerboard is one inch exactly.
Put two spacers a side and had to tap gently to get everything back in place.
Looking forward to a good sleep at anchor now. Board is solid as a rock now and still pivots fine.
They were a white 3 inch washer with a 1 inch hole made of teflon or nylon. Seemed to be 1/16 of an inch. used two spacers per side. Centerboard nice and tight now no clunking.
