I’ve added a few little items to the boat. No big projects but helpful nonetheless.

Here is a small LED light that is battery powered. Cost about $5 and is great to light up the breaker panel area. Just push the middle and it turns on.

Two items here. The gimbaling drink holder just snaps on. The swiveling cam cleat replaces a cleat for the furler line control. The Admiral didn’t like dealing with the cleat and my job is to make the Admiral happy!

My daughter gave me this mesh pockets holder. It came with suction cups which didn’t really work. I replaced them with snaps and mounted it inside the bulkhead.

A small boat pole and the Nauti Duck Dock-A-Matic now hang in easy reach just inside the cabin.

That’s it. Just a few easy mods that make sailing more convenient.

Oh, one more thing. When I removed the cleat that had held the furler line – it was screwed into the deck with 1” screws with no through bolting. We could’ve been killed!

We cannot direct the winds but we can adjust our sails.

Randy, where do you stow your companionway hatch board?

I store the hatchboard in the usual place. Its front edge is right where the spring line hangs in the photo. For the photo the board must have been in the cockpit.

Your furler control line looks thicker than what came on my boat. Did you replace it with something heavier? We've always thought what came on the boat seems a bit thin.

Andy, pretty sure that is a new line on Randy's furler. We wanted to replace ours too, but the issue for us is the size of the furler drum, there's not enough room for a larger line.

Randy, which furlder drum do you have?

His line looks to be 1/4", which is somewhat standard on drum type furlers.

It is 1/4" Sta-Set X.

The furler is CDI and the line fits very well.
