Here are a few pictures from my weekend in the San Juans.

Getting underway at Crescent Harbor.


A few miles further down rounding Strawberry point in Saratoga Passage.



Morning fog


Looking South down Saratoga Passage. Whidbey Island is on the right



MT Erie on Fidalgo Island. You can drive to the top and get quite a view from 1600 feet.



Approach to Deception Pass.







And into the Fog. Check with Seattle Traffic Control and go slow!

A surprise when it roared my my dock



Heading into the malestrom. Does this look threatening?


About 5 min before all hell breaks loose.


after the rip tide, The fog caught me and I had that all the way till Deception Pass. I did have some company out there.


Back at the Pass. I hit the current perfectly and had a quick trip back averaging 8 kts.

Nice pics, thanks! I love to bring up "Google Earth" and trace the steps when someone posts a cruise. Looks like a great place to sail, been seeing lots of San Juan area pics and posts, popular place! Cheers!
