The original shrouds attached at the rubrail and had wider speaders (Steve's) The newer design have the shrouds attach on the cabintop and have narrow spreaders (Bill and Paul).
I think you guys are way off the snow plow topic. If you post a new topic you'll get better responses. There are several posts about PVC mast supports and furler covers.
When I towed my 250 I removed the jib from the furler....always. I also had the mast stern support way up so you could get in and out of the cabin in the road. I made a support bracket out of 2x8 lumber that sat in the mast step and supported the mast in the middle to keep it from flexing. Then I used 1.5" ratchet straps to stay the thing......The spreaders were off the lifeline. I was the last boat with the wide shrouds.
I guess the spreaders are wider on your model Steve. The shroud turnbuckles are outside of the lifelines and below the cabin top. Ours are inside the lifelines, and therefore the spreaders are shorter.
