We seem to get pretty cramped with 4 people and the C25 rail is pretty small for a bunch of grown (and somewhat large) men ... so we feel best with just 3 people: Helmsman, Jib Trimmer, and Foredeck/Helpwithanythingweneed (we do not have a spinnaker - just a whisker pole).
I'm curious how many you race with and their duties. Also, if more than 3 where do you put them all?

In "normal" winds, I prefer to race with 2 crew plus myself at the helm. The C25 is small enough that it only needs one person on the foredeck, and the genoa trimmer can handle both jib sheets when necessary. On Saturday we raced in 20k winds and 4 total was not enough.
In Central Ohio, we often have very light air races, especially in the middle of the summer. In those cases I like to have only me +1 or me +2 in the boat because I'm concerned that another crew member will simply be additional, unnecessary weight. I only race JAM tho.

Normally race with the symetical spin, so we like four in normal conditions. Normal= 4: Helm, trimmer, pole, foredeck Light = 3: Helm, trimmer, pole/foredeck (he's nimble!) Heavy = 5: Helm, trimmer, pole, foredeck, ballast!
Andy, I'd say on a Capri that would be the exact right set of numbers. (using J-22's and 24's as comparison)
On the Wasp we used to have a helm, Mainsheet, Jib/kite trim and foredeck. Next guy works the tacks on the jibs and the pit for the kite. Everyone around here that we get sails bigger boats so if I put them on the rail for half the race they will automatically do mast suppor and twings or something useful and know how to stay out of the way. If just Jib and main though, anything over four is too tight.
