I'm planning for our 4th B.E.E.R. Cruise (Backwater Environmental Escape Rendezvous) in Pensacola June 8-12th. At last look there were 73 boats signed up (two 25's and two 250's). I'm hoping "Joint Decision" will make it 74! Sure would be great if some more of you could make the trip. Chances are once you make it once you'll be making plans for the next year.
If anyone is interested here's the web site. I don't belong to the group that host this trip just a cruiser that enjoys sailing the Pensacola area. There's some pictures of our previous trips on my web site.
It's official! We're going to Pensacola for this years B.E.E.R. cruise. Launch date is Friday June 8th. So we're going to leave here early on the Thursday taking the whole week off (we're heading back on the Wednesday.) Back to work on Thursday after the cruise.
maps.google.com estimates it is 641 mi (about 9 hours 24 mins) at 9mpg (hope it's better) that works out at $430+- just for Fuel.
The happy part of this is that my buddy would put more fuel than that in his stink pot to go a small fraction of the distance (our round trip is 1280 miles)
That great Paul! That makes two 25's and three 250's. Don't forget to shoot Ben an e-mail so he can add you to the list. He uses the list to let the marina know how many boats to expect. Last I looked, including you makes it 78 boats.
We're just a week away from the B.E.E.R. cruise (Backwater Environmental Escape Rendevous) and there are 6 Catlalina 25/250s registered. I don't recognize all of the boat/skipper names, but Capt'Ron, Tom Potter and ourselves are listed.
Amazingly I still have a bunch of stuff to do on board, but then, don't we always have a list!
Anyone recognize any of the other C25/250 owners listed on the skippers page? (Follow Toms link to the cruise pages above)
We made it back from the BEER Cruise, I'm still working to unload the boat. I didn't take as many pictures this trip, I'm hoping Paul took up my slack. (More to come, when all the work is done)
Here's a video that someone took of Paul and I, Paul is on the other side of me. We sailed along together for a few miles. (before the storm!)
Here's a few pictures.
Here's one of Paul anchored at Quite Water Beach near Pensacola.
And a few more of Paul.
The sun sets on "Joint Decision" in Mosquito Cove.
Awesome shots Tom! We just got home and stowed the boat. We drove 12 hours today but at 55mph we got 11.1 mpg!!!! (compared to 9.5mpg on the way up at 60+)
I'll pull the pics and videos from the cameras in the morning.
