Just a quick drive by hello. I just realized that it has been a long time since I visited. I did a quick visit to the boat yard yesterday to visit the boat. There was about 6" of snow, that made the driving a little fun. The boat was sleeping nicely, no problems noticed.

I sure envy the folks here that can sail year round, then again, I would have to give up my skiing!

Hi John... Of course the CA folks will tell you they can ski and sail on the same day! But I happen to like the change of seasons and the anticipation of the next splash. I (finally) have ice on the river outside and a new boat that's being shrinkwrapped tomorrow for delivery in April... Fun stuff! No snow down here, tho...

My boat likes being home for the winter, I can hear it purring through the window.

I like the change of seasons as well...now if it would just change from winter to spring... even a day or two in the 70's would be fine for me. Of course it would have to be the weekend so I could hit the lake. Last night on the news, they mentioned that we are having our worst winter in years. Still not like up north, but cold enough to get cabin fever started.

Well, it certainly IS possible to ski and sail in the same day. The sailing would be on a small lake probably. I have done both on the same weekend a couple of times. It takes us about 3 hrs (+/-) to get to Kirkwood, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, or Heavenly Valley (well, that one is a bit longer) so we usually just make a day trip of it. It's very nice 'visiting' winter and not having to stay in it. I grew up having 4 seasons (Ohio) and I love the snow and the mountains, but now I'm spoiled. Since the boat is 35 minutes away its far easier (and cheaper) to go sailing...

Well my boat is 35 seconds away (when she's in the water)... Skiing is a few hours--and another season. (...and correction: Snow down here now.)
