Is there a consenus of opinion where the adjustable pully for the jib lines rides on the C 250 jib track. Front-back-middle??? Dependable on wind speed/direction????

Bear,
I have a 110% jib and have the jib track cars all the way forward.
I found by moving the cars forward, it reduced weatherhelm by giving the jib more power.

When you reef the main, you can move the cars back to flatten the jib.
This will also "twist" the jib by allowing top to luff and further reduce power.

Russ, Good explanation, I have kept the jib track cars all the way back, never moved them. I thought about moving them forward and thought I understood why. But with your explanation I get it now..THANX..

The location of the jib cars controls the angle of the sheet and therefore the relative pull on the foot and leech. Moving them forward will tighten the leech, aft will increase the tension on the foot. It may have other (sometimes unintended) effects such as geting clearance around a shroud, but thats not really why the track is there. So where does it go on a given day - just look at the location of the draft, the shape of the sail (especially any unwanted twist), and whats happening with the telltales.

A good visual check is to watch the wrinkles in your jib. If they run parallel to the leech then move the car back. If they run parallel to the foot then move the car forward.
