This weekend we found a goodly amount of the briny stuff in the bilge. Where did it come from? Think we may have found the answer....
The WB Valve was left open!
When under the outboard power the water probably pushes up into the WB tank and out the top of the WB Valve housing.
Once shut, we had no more water in the bilge. Will test it again next trip to see if that is the culprit.

Happy sailing.

Congratulations on finding a possible source of water.

This summer while exploring the Pacific Northwest I found that when encountering rough seas the bedding would be soaking at times and water in the bilge. My daughter while below found that when we were pounding into heavy seas, when we would take a large wave and come crashing down, water would shoot up through the rubber tube which has the keel cable in it from the cockpit to the keel. We started calling this "the water cannon" and from then on plugged it when encountering rough or "head on" seas. I also regasketed the top and bottom of the water ballast valve with old wet suit material.
