Welcome to the forum Doug. I have a C25 moored on a ball at Ghost Lake. Just hauled it out Saturday before the big snowfall.
There are three C250's on Ghost and two C25's. If you want to test drive either I can assist you. I can be reached via the Ghost Lake Sailing Association. On Ghost there are two sailing instructors with 250's and one 250 owner sells sails. All of them would be motivated to take you for a spin. They're also nice people.(as are the C25 owners) We had a wonderful summer on Ghost, spending many happy weekends on the hook down at 'Far Cove'. Last summer we had our C25 at Shuswap and out on Vancouver Island. Groups have taken loosely organized trips to Diefenbaker Lake and to Montana's Flathead Lake. In addition to Ghost Lake Sailing Association, many of us belong to FACS (Foothills Association of Cruising Sailors) which is more of a winter organization and which has a large highly organized annual trip. This year's is scheduled for Desolation Sound, last year was Barkley Sound. Email me if you need info or want introductions. As for my two-bits worth on the diesel - I like the idea of simplicity. I'd opt for the OB. I think the C250 is too small and open for a diesel.
