My 25 had the original stove removed along with the heat shield that was in that space. I plan to put a Origo double burner back in and wondered what the original heat shield covered. Was it sides, back, and bottom? Was there a 'cutting board' that fit on top of all of this?

Yes, the heat shield was sides, back and bottom. The cutting board was an additional option and fits nicely on the top of the Origo. If I ever get back to my boat, I'll get you a photo. First I have to get through my upcoming triple by-pass surgery.

That sounds so damn scary but everyone I know who has been through it comes out of surgery looking healthier than when they went in. Hug the pillow, get strong. And good luck to your surgical team.
Thanks Bill. I may try to fashion something from sheet metal for the sides at least, as that appears to be where it would need a shield the most. Or I may do a wanted on the Swap Meet to see if there are any out there.
With our Origo, all the heat went up. The "flame" shield could well have been installed to contain the alcohol flare ups. You may want to simply try the Origo without putting anything else in and see how it works before you go to the trouble of making a shield.
I agree with Stu Jackson. The heat goes up on an Origo. The Shield that I removed (and the Curtain Burner) also has a gimble bracket. I considered adapting the Origo to fit in the Shield, so I could have the gimble feature, but way too much work. I have my new Origo secured in the appropiate place, and have been happy with its performance.
Had a double about 4 yrs or so ago. Now walk 3 miles in under and hour, swim a mile in under an hour, and pump iron for 2 hrs a couple of times a week. That's plus sailing and clogging. If you blanked out my face and just looked at the bod, you wouldn't guess my age. Get up an go. Good luck. Hey I hit on the nurse when I came out of surgery, my wife won't let me forget it.

When we use something like a 3 quart pan, though, the outer edge of the hot pot may be getting pretty close to the sides. I guess that is what concerns me the most.
