Well I promised to get these pictures to you all and I've finally finished uploading them to my site. I wanted to add weight to the bow and thought it seemed silly to load sand or rocks up front, why not just move the battery weight around. It works very well and was a very simple project and easy to do.

Here is the link:

Oh, By the way, there is blocking under the main board for support of the weight of the batteries.

Turk,
This would make a very good Tech Tip.

Also, what is the wire? going into water tank?

That is a water indicator for a meter I have mounted up by the sink. Got it from New Zealand - or was it australia - about $50.b No moving parts, works on the resistance of water.

How did you connect the outboard electrical wire to the batteries? Is there much loss of charging due to the extra length of the wire? It would be great if you could give more details of the whole project for the unhandy few like me among us.

Well, to make a long story short, I have a 65 watt solar panel. My outboard has no charging capabilities. I do plan on buying a new outboard next year and would like an answer to this.

I will try to add more detail to the project, but not at this time. Very busy with hauling the boat out for winter, closing my pool, and off to the Annapolis boat show! I want to make a website this fall devoted to all the things I've done to the boat. I have all the pictures, just don't have the time right now. Stay tuned.
