For some reason I had purchased 2 of these pre-feeders (3/8"-1/2") and only need one, obviously. I am asking $35.00 plus shipping. Anyone interested? I am also posting it on e-bay. First come first serve.

Hi Matthew,

I have no idea what a "pre-feeder" is ... what does it do?

Lines the sail up to go through the kerf on the mast or through the track on the tuff luff.

Used primarily where you use bolt rope, not hanks

Duane is absolutely correct. Bolt roped mains are a pain without this little expensive piece of hardware, beleive me.

Well, color me happy. I was just thinking the other day of adding a main pre-feeder to the old girl. Which one are you selling, i.e. a link?

Of course, I still have a hanked main for cruising, but (IMO) the pre-feeder shouldn't bother that.

Thanks.

I woud assume the Commodore does not have an old SUPER STIFF HEAVY DUTY old main like mine that is the quintesential pain in the ass. Single handing is a ^%$&^%&^ trying to get it up without a pre-feeder as it keeps getting pinched & bound in the mast track. I think it is a super heavy air main being as heavy as it is, and the fact the batten pockets are sealed and double plied with fabric on the ends.I believe the military might be able to use it to shield from IED's in Iraq. I am switching to hanks this week from a sail I bought from another association memeber who took pity on me, but think it is wise to keep this bolt rope mainsail around for early spring and late fall sailing.

Cheers
