Gina & I just bought #2404 which had been out of service for many years. We just discovered that the only thing holding the starboard upper in place was a brittle spreader boot. We need the std. 1" spreader plug -- that small, slotted plastic piece that goes on the end of the spreader. If anyone has one - or knows a marine supplier where I might be able to buy one - we would be most grateful. -- Mike
Catalina Direct - probably 5 bucks for the set....If you haven't changed to the Stainless steel spreader sockets it would probably be a good time. CD sells those too.
Mike there is a wealth of ideas on how to make these boats into great cruisers if you drill the pages of this forum. many of use get all the performance we can out of these boats but do it while being very comfortable.
Duane & Frank --what a terrific resource Catalina Direct is! Although I didn't find the spreader plug listed online, I did find a half dozen other parts I have been looking for. The prices are also reasonable. I'll call them in the morning about the spreader plug. Thanks for your advice and encouragement. -- Mike & Gina.
Welcome, Mike... Also get Catalina Direct's C-25 Owners Handbook for about $10. It's mostly a catalog, but also a lot of useful ideas and important information (on things like the stainless spreader sockets).
