Im hoping some one has experienced this. I have bought a 81 C25. it is a beautiful bought and am glad I made the purchase back in december. I am still working on her cleaning and minor maintanace. When I did buy the boat I notices that the bilge area was full from rain water. In the event of this after drying the bilge the compression stick is a little soft. It has been months now and the stick is drying out real good. Does anyone have any recomedations on how to repair it?the access to it is hard and for a proper repair I think I have to do somne cutting in the floor board. has anyone had this trouble? I would appreciate your help ..thank you

yeah, I've had that problem, its not as bad as you might think...

Do you have a dinette or traditional interior?

If it's the small block of wood attached to the inside of the dinette seat, I think its more of a stiffener for the seat frame.

It does carry some load. We replaced ours by glassing in a doug fir that was soaked in west system (15 coats).

It is not as load bearing as you might think. the post above is actually hollow and not directly under the tabernacle. The majority of the weight is born on and dispersed by the bulkheads in both the cabin and the forward berth.
