Has anyone replaced their cleat for the centerboard with a cam cleat? It seems that this would be easier to use, sepecially in a wheel steered boat (or do most simply not adjust the centerboard position while sailing?)

We did not consider a jamb cleat due to concern that damage would follow accidental release, but our issue is withe load on the keel haul up line. On the list of things to do is change out the blocks for larger diameters hoping that it will ease the load (friction must be pretty high on those liddle-biddy wheels)
When I launch "Brandy" and lower the center board, I pull about one foot of line back up,line is marked. I then leave it that way for the entire season unless I'm beaching at one of our islands. I never considered changing cleats, the original cleat seems fine. "Six days till splash"
