Simple questions. - I removed all exterior teak to refinish, including the companion way siderails that hold the hatchboards and the threshold. On my boat, this required drilling out the teak plugs that hide/protect the screws that hold these peices in place. Q: How do I replace the plugs? Are they glued and if so with what kind of glue? I assume someday I or a successor will need to remove these peices once again.
Q: Is there anything that can be added to the rails while I have them off to reduce friction of the sliding hatch cover, such as teflon stips?
Thanks. I do not always respond to suggestions to my inquiries to minimize traffic, but I want to note that I do greatly appreciate all those who are responsible for and contribute to this association and forum.

Tap them in place, sand flush and finish over the top. (I use Cetol) Mine have stayed in place with this method.
"rails while I have them off to reduce friction of the sliding hatch cover, such as teflon stips?"
Some other folks have done this... I think some have used nylon stick-on disks that are available in hardware stores as low-friction 'gliders' for drawers. Pieces of material commonly known as 'hi-moly' (high molecular weight plastic) are also used for this purpose.
Probably some old threads out there on this topic.
