Been looking on the web for Capri data (specifically the 30), but really dont find much of any. I recently got a Capri 30....needs some work. Here's my to do list so far:
Rebed everything, looks like a rainforest inside. I think the deck is foam cored, so I'll be using epoxy to fill the holes rather than polyester.
Figure out how to seal the mast through deck fitting.
Rewire the lights....none except the nav lights work.
replace the forward most bulkhead....someone screwed a bracket to it and pulled it free from the tabs....doh
basically, once I get the beast watertight (rain water) I'll be able to work on making it look good.
get the mold out!
Sails and motor good...maybe replace the #1 for racing.

Now that really makes me laugh!! I knew that name was pretty cool! I'm thinking a guitar playing lobster logo. :)
Turns out that much of my water is coming from around the mast......duh, the missing mast boot might have something to do with that (I've never had a keel stepped mast before). Duct tape to the rescue (at least for now). I'm looking at spartight with a vinyl boot to fix this long term.

We have been thinking of a new name for our Capri too. The name on the boat now is Cele and I guess it is pronounced Chile but it will be gone soon. we were thinking of Volare after the song but that may not last. Spoiled rotten is more like it. I hope you find the leak in the mast. if oyu have some photos add them into the photos section to the left, I know that you will be adding a site but if you have them post them. photos are worth a thousnd words and this would give us a good idea what you are up agenst. as for the work on the deck,Catalina used a foam core and using epoxy the gelcoat will not bond right. it might last some years but it will require a polyester resin to have a good bond. I have done some reserch in the rubber molding of the nonskid, my boat is in the files section under hull 17 and you can see what i am up agenst in the spring. keep on posting, I am looking forward to watching the woork in progress Chris mcKillip

I'll post some of the 'work' photos, plus the interior once I take some.....it gets dark early these days.
As for the polyester, I have not tested it on the core of this boat myself, but I have read in other posts and websites that foam core will dissolve in polyester resin, leaving a void worse than you are trying to fix....beware. :) I will test it in the spring and let you know what happens.
I saw your crushed bow....it looks like it can be fixed pretty easily.
judging from one of the photos, the construction is just like on my 30. The deck overlaps the hull like a lid and is glued on and screwed from under the rubrail.
