<font face="Tahoma"></font id="Tahoma">Good morning all. Does anyone have any direct experience with NE Ropes Regatta Braid 5/16 as jib sheets? Crew and I really like the "hand" and I like the non-hockling, easy to splice aspect. So, whats up and what might I expect as far as longevity, etc
Go to www.layline.com and take a read on their website. Get on their catalog list, and if you can't find the answer at either of those locations, call their order line. I think it's Dee who answers the phone. She can probably tell you which synthetic sheep they sheered to make the stuff and any other information you might want.
Along with that, if the colors don't bother you too much, the clearance and "dead end" department is usually a good bargain bin for boats our size. You just have to keep checking often and buy proactively, not reactively.
Incidently, if you get the guy, he is going to tell you forget the crew, its your wallet and you don't need "hand friendly line" but coming from a spot in the pit on a larger boat, I know you have to keep the crew happy, if it isn't soft line its cold ales.
