I am considering buying a C250WK, and am wondering if there is a C250 fleet in Portland, OR, or if there are any other C250 sailors near me that watch this forum? If so, please reply here or email me at kevin@catapult.biz.

Thanks,

Kevin

Gary Bruner has a very active fleet (#94) (and mostly C25's) on the Columbia at Portland. (The Nationals were there in 2004 with 22 boats entered!)

Hi Kevin
I just bought a c250 myself. I know that there is an active racing fleet from looking at the race results from some of the local clubs, but I haven't met any of the owners myself yet.

Dick,

Are you in Portland, or somewhere near? Did you buy winged keel or water ballast? Which dealer (if you live near Portland) did you use?

Derek,

Do 250's compete against 25's, or separate classes, or...? Any idea how I would get a hold of Gary?

Thanks,

Kevin

Anyone have any ideas?

All that is between me and buying a C250WK is getting to sail one for a few minutes. The Portland and Seattle dealers do not have one in the water. I tried the C25 fleet, and got in contact with one C250WK sailor, but he is not sailing it right now (not registered even) due to various personal issues. I am going down right now to get slip numbers for two I found in Tomahawk Bay Marina, although I am not sure if they are WB or WK. I'll get the Marina manager to pass messages on. I talked to an owner in Bend, but he has a tall rig, so it would not really be the same as what I am contemplating.

I would charter one if I knew where I could do that.

Frustrating.

Kevin

I have a 2004 WK std rig.
I will be at South Lake Tahoe this week end, you can stay at my condo as my guest and you could try sailing my Catalina.

Thanks very much for the offer Paul! I'd like to take you up on it, I have a couple of questions to ask, but I'll email you privately in a few minutes to ask them rather than take up forum bandwidth with it. If for some reason you do not get my email, please email me at kevin@catapult.biz or call 503-310-0285.
