During a recent storm (not Katrina), my Windex blew off the top of the mast on my 250wk. Rather than go through the hassle of taking the boat out of the water and taking the mast down I thought about using a bosun's chair to replace. I'm an average guy at 6' and 180 lbs. However, the last thing I need is to be at the top of the mast on a seat and tip the boat over. Has anyone used a bosun's chair on a 250wk before and/or is this something that should be considered dangerous on this boat??
We've hauled our skinny neighbor up our mast a couple times now - he probably weighs 140. It's okay. We use the main halyard with the jib halyard as a backup.
