Thanks Frank for the heads up... these rudders are in my opinion the best rudder combination for the water ballast model. A few years ago, some boat class were coming on our site requesting them as they knew some Catalina owners were replacing them.

Shipping will likely be around $50

It says no shipping in the ad, you have to pick it up in New York

I'm the one selling the rudder. It says in the description of the ad that I prefer the buyer picks up in NYC but will ship UPS if the buyer want to pay for all that shipping. Haven't figured out the cost but with crating it could easily cost close to $75. But if you really want it...

I haven't shipped anything like this so any input as to how to go about it would be welcome

Thanks,
Andre'

Andre,

Catalina ships the rudders sandwiched between two pieces of 1/4 inch plywood which are banded together. Lacking banding equipment, I would think that 1/4 inch rope would work if tightened well.

Thanks Arlyn. I remember that from when they shipped my new 3rd Gen. I'll use that and bubble wrap if the buyer wants it shipped.
