Parts List:
(1) 3/8" Tee fitting, (1) Rainbird
sprinkler system fitting [part
number
R325C] 3/4" hose thread swivel to 1/4" tubing adaptor, (1) 3/4"
pipe thread PVC fitting
1" long , (1) 3/4" water sprinkler cap fitting,
and enough 3/8" I.D.
tube to do the job [approximately 1.5'].
Installation Instructions:
- Cut the water bypass hose that runs from
just below the oil dip stick to forward side of the thermostat. Cut it on
the r/h side of the engine just behind and above the oil dip stick. You
will need to cut out approximately 1/2" to allow for the T-fitting
length .
- Install the nylon T-fitting with the T
facing aft. You may need to remove the engine cooling water bypass tube to
do the cutting or installing of the fitting.
- Install the Rainbird hose fitting onto the
end of the length of 3/8" I.D. tube 1 1/2 foot long. Bevel the end of
the hose fitting that inserts into the tube by filing of a small amount of
material, You might also want to heat the hose / tube end for ease of assembly.
- Install the hose end fitting and tube
assembly onto the already installed T-fitting and install the end cap and
3/4 " PVC pipe fitting into the hose connection.
Note the last picture showing how the water
flows out of all the water
ports on the engine.
When not flushing be sure
the Cap on the hose fitting is securely
installed and has no
leakage.
