Suzy Q - Anchor Mount / Jib Downhaul

The bow-roller that is sold for the Bruce works very well on the C25. The bow-roller mounts at an angle on the starboard side of the headstay. It is centered between the headstay and the bow pulpit. The eye of the Bruce is about 2" forward of the deck hole for the chain. Inside the locker I have a piece of 3/8 all-thread that passes through a link to hold the anchor in place. I welded the clevis to deter easy theft of anchor.

One of the best modifications I have come across was in the Mainsheet but being a long time ago maybe should be brought up again. That is a "Jib Downhaul". I single-hand most of the time and the jib downhaul is really a lifesaver. I installed a small snatch block at the tack and my jib halyard is continuous from the cockpit to the head of the jib and down to the block at the tack and on back to the cockpit. In highwind conditions it is easy to drop the genny and then go forward to hank on the jib. or just sail with the main until things settle down.
